Edwardian Cottage

Joy Le Fevre, who lives in an early Edwardian home in Iffley, near Oxford, has commissioned Effects Interiors to restyle several areas of her house and is full of praise for its work.

The use of earthy, organic colours has created a warm and welcoming effect and, says Joy, the classic, but unusual style is one which creates the most comment from visitors.

Here Suzanne used special paint techniques to achieve a two-tone effect, working with a very thin colour wash to create a veil-like appearance which enables the paler diamonds to stand out from the deeper background.

“The thing about Suzanne that I haven’t found with anyone else is that she translates texture very well,” said Joy. “I had a vague idea of the textured look I wanted in the main areas of the house. Suzanne came and looked at it and then simply got on with the job without making a long process of it. She has a very good ability to translate ideas and make them happen.”
